 Dr Vincenzo Mancini gained his medical degree in 1980 from the University of Bologna and was awarded his specialist qualification in Dermatology, from the University of Turin, in 1984. Whilst undertaking his specialist training he worked in a "Doctor On Call" capacity (1981-1986) in the A& E department of Recanati Hospital, gaining extensive experience of general medicine and acute conditions. Even after qualifying as a Specialist Dermatologist he continued to work in general practice (1986-1990) whilst fulfilling a lifelong ambition to develop his skills as a Dermatosurgeon. This involved undertaking training sessions in Paris (between 1987-1990), under the supervision of the renowned pioneers of autologous hair transplantation, Dr Serge Letessier and Dr Patrick Rabineau, where he perfected the techniques he still uses today in clinics as far afield as Sicily, the Marche region of Central Italy to Paris and London.
His Consultant Dermatologist appointment, with the Italian equivalent of the NHS, was with the Fermo and San Benedetto del Tronto hospital trusts (Marche Region) until 2008. Since then he has worked in the private sector, both in General Dermatology (including dermatosurgery) and in Cosmetic Dermatology, including hair transplants.
He has authored a number of papers in national and international scientific journals and made numerous presentations on dermatosurgery and hair transplantation to Italian and International conferences.
